The Whitby 42 is included here because it would be an excellent choice for anyone who wants to sell their house and move aboard a boat for the rest of their life. Indeed, this boat is almost as a large as small house. While it has a beam of 13 feet, it has a draft of only 5 feet. Below decks it has two heads and so much space that your grown children may be tempted to move back home with you. The Whitby 42 has a centre cockpit which makes it possible for the boat to have an aft cabin which is completely separate from the main cabin (the two are connected by a small hallway). This boat was designed by Ted Brewer, and over 250 were built mainly in the 1970s.
