The Mirage 24 belongs in that Canadian Sailboat Hall of Fame if only because it is the boat which launched Mirage Yachts. In the early 1970s, Dick Steffen was a large C&C dealer in the Montreal area. He talked C&C into designing a 24 footer which would be competitive under the MORC (Midget Ocean Racing Club) rating rule. However, when C&C decided against building the boat, Dick Steffen bought the plans and put the 24 footer into production himself. This was the beginning of Mirage Yachts, which soon became one of the larger sailboat manufacturers in Canada.

The Mirage 24 is pretty boat with a fair amount of interior space. This boat did very well in the MORC fleet, and its owners report that its performance really starts to shine in medium winds.
