Welcome to the 2008 Shark Canadians.
Posted on May 13, 2008 by David O Sullivan

As the Regatta Chair, I want to personally invite all Shark sailors to participate in the 2008 Canadian Championship on the Ottawa River. Our Organizing Committee has been doing a terrific job and everything is now falling into place for a great regatta. It's been a little hectic because three month ago we didn't even know we would be hosting a stand-alone Shark regatta, much less the Canadian Championship. (The Shark counter is normally part of the NOD, but unexpected schedule difficulties made this impossible for 2008.) I should add that our job was made easier because we relied heavily on the experience of those who ran the Shark Worlds which BYC hosted five years ago.

A few reminders: There will be a pig roast on the evening of Saturday, June 7 (make that pigs in the plural). Don't forget, if you register before May 31st, you'll save $40. And finally, you have the option of leaving your boat and trailer at BYC if you're from out of town and plan to compete in the Montreal Shark regatta two weeks later. If you have any questions, please contact me (see contact information in the side bar menu). See you at the Canadians on June 7 and 8.

David O'Sullivan, Regatta Chair
(Shark 815 - Crazy Ivan)

Leave your boat in Ottawa after the Canadians.
Posted on May 12, 2008 by mcsail

Attention skippers of boats from the Toronto region or other areas around the Great Lakes. If you plan to compete in both the Shark Canadians in Ottawa on June 7 & 8 and the Coupe de Quebec in Montreal on June 21 & 22, you are welcome to leave your boat and trailer at BYC for the two week period between these two events. This will save you the trouble and fuel expense of trailering your boat home after the Canadians, and then all the way to Montreal two weeks later. The driving time from Ottawa to Montreal is only two hours. For more information, contact the Regatta Chair, David O'Sullivan. (see the contact information in the sidebar menu).
