Britannia Yacht Club celebrates its 125th anniversary.
This year Britannia Yacht Club is celebrating its 125th anniversary with a series of events that will be taking place throughout the year. This will include a number of presentations and people will be able to see historical displays in the clubhouse as well as historic yachts outside.

BYC was formed in1887 and incorporated in 1895, and is one of the oldest yacht clubs in Canada.  It is also interesting to note that the club has undergone several name changes over the years. It was first known as the “Britannia Aquatic Club”. In its early years, its name was change to the “Britannia Nautical Club”, the  “Britannia Boat House Club”,  and the “Britannia Boating Club”. In 1950 it became known as the “Britannia Yacht Club”
