Workshop for women sailors
Women in Wind Workshop
For several years, a dedicated group of women created and ran workshops for women interested in sailing. Thanks to their initiative, a great number of Ottawa-area women took to the sport of sailing. Many sailors contributed by sharing their knowledge while others take advantage of these opportunities to improve their skills.
The Women in Wind Workshop, known as WiW, has catered to women’s racing skills and knowledge. The success of the WiW workshop is demonstrated in the increased attendance observed each year.
For Spring 2014, the WiW will be expanding to cover topics related to both the enjoyment of the cruising lifestyle and racing. Whether you are a day, week-end or extended cruise sailor; novice, intermediate or advanced racer; this is the workshop for you.
Organizers are busy developing a program where you can hear engaging speakers and expand on your sailing skills. No doubt, our speakers will be able to answer the questions you are hesitant to ask your sailing partners.
The WiW workshop is also the opportunity for women who are interested in the racing coached boat program to find more information about opportunities available for them.
Mark the date! We expect to see you on Saturday April 12th, 2014 at Britannia Yacht Club (BYC).
